WEMA has a cleanout feature on their sensors
I rencently had to replace my waste tank indicator, as it was giving a false reading, too. If you order a new sensor from WEMA, the OEM tank indicator supplier for Hunter, they will offer to sell you a "flush kit" to enable you to flush your tank indicator. This flush kit consits of a piece of 1/4" tubing about 30" long and a little 1/4" brass gate valve. Cost is $12. This kit may be hooked up to your fresh water system and linked to a male adapter on the top of the waste unit. To flush the indicator unit, just open the gate valve and flush with fresh water while doing your pumpout. What this does, is backflush through the little holes in the sensor unit to flush out the caking waste that fouls your sensing unit. Anyway, that's WEMA's story. I just installed it this weekend and flushed once. Worked fine. Fortunately, the transom shower unit is right near the waste holding tank so it was a relativly inexpensive and uncomplicated installation. Just a couple of bucks of plastic fittings and a foot of water tube from Home Depot and your finished.Within a week of the waste tank indicator going bad, my fresh water indicator went bad, also. Sounds like GM is making these components. Planned obsolesence....Hunter parts department can give you the phone number for WEMA. Hunter sells the tank indicators (same price as WEMA), but I don't know if they sell the flushing kits.Good luck.Wynn FerrelS/V Tranquility
