If you were plexiglass what would you want to be painted with?

So here is my current situation, I've turned into a sheet of plexiglass. lol but really..

I've painstakingly gone through the effort of cutting all 6 side and top lights, beviled thier edges and prepend the hull where they are to attach. Added some pictures for you'll to enjoy..

Now I'm making templates with shims hot glued in place. I've read this will help me to set the glass with 3M tape right the first time. This tape is tough, I see why you only get one chance. Once the glass is set in will tape off and sika flex all the joints.

But, first I'm dry fitting the lights with the shims inplace and marking out where the openings are from down below. This leads me to my questions of the day....

I'd like to paint the inside of the glass black, everywhere except the openings of course. Soooooo..

1) What type of paint should I utilize on plexiglas?

2) Can the black sika primer be applied on top of this paint, or should I leave a 1" border around the outside edges for the sika primer?

3) What would be the best bonding surface for the 3M (raw glass, painted or sika primed) ?

Thanks in advance mates!

I guess I'd use the newer Krylon spray paint for plastics, but read the caveats on the can, first.
Dunno if it comes in liquid form or not...
Hope someone else can help with those other questions.

do a search for painting polycarbonate.... the answer seems to be krylon fusion.

Nice ! I think we got the paint narrowed down to a pretty good selections, i like the Rust-Oleum, thanks Jim. But are there any Sika experts out there? I'm really wondering if I should apply to sika primer to the Rust-Oleum paint or just Prime the raw plexiglass.. hmmmm

DEI High Temp silicone coating. Comes in black or grey. I saw it recommended more than once when I was researching my window project. Before applying it to my new acrylic windows, I tested it on a couple pieces of scrap along with the vhb tape. I tried to separate the two and neither would budge. I think the glass would have broken before either the paint or tape would let loose.

I was taught that (beat in my head and our secretaries), by my company who LOST their trade marks from common use names. Their biggest loss was Nylon® ( Alt R ). BTW Fiberglas® is not Fiberglass you can use FRP instead.:p
the Rust-Oleum paint or just Prime the raw plexiglass.. hmmmm
See my link's...

I never took it wrong. I tell him "Lawyer Jokes" all the time. My favorite is...
"Do you know the difference between a Dead Skunk and a Dead Lawyer on the Highway?"
Wait for it...
"There is 50 feet of tire skid marks in front of the skunk!"

Subtle one...
"What's the difference between a Rooster and a Lawyer?"
Wait for it and think...
"The Rooster Clucks Defiance!"
Jim...
