I am making a list for Santa on what I would need to run my head and main halyards back to the cockpit on my project boat. Right now everything is tied off at the mast and has a winch mounted on the mast. There will be 3 lines (one an aux line). I will most likely relocate the mast mounted winch to the cabin top. The halyards exit the mast about a foot off the deck. I would like suggestions on what I would need to do this the best way.....stand up swivel blocks, deck organizers, rope clutches? Btw, it's 79 H30 Cherubini and has those ventilation horns on each side of mast....may be in the way.

Hello

ambitious project.... I had a Mac25, that I brought all the line back to the cockpit... made it easy for solo sailing.... under the mast plate, I installed a block plate.... to the block plate I attached blocks to handle all the lines.. after the block plate, I used a deck organizer to turn the ropes and head them for the cockpit... on the cabin top near the cockpit, I used powercleats and winch to control them... here is a picture drawing of how I set up my ropes on my boat... also a picture of the deck layout with everything positioned... I do not have all the ropes in place yet in the picture... on my new boat (kittiwake), I plan to do something similar in fashion to set it up for solo sailing...

sincerely
Jess

I'll be happy to help, give me a call Monday if you'd like, 9-4 Pacific, 877-932-7245. You'll need lead blocks at the mast base, a deck organizer and a rope clutch.

Thanks Jess, that looks like what I want to do. Your organizers are where my ventilation horns are so may need them forward of the mast before coming back to the clutches. I won't be doing too much soloing but want to avoid having to climb on the cabin deck if it gets rough. I hope I am on Santa's good boy list since it looks like an expensive upgrade.

Organizers are way overkill for a C22. We used simple standup blocks on ours. Less turns = less friction.
