Irene will be here on Sunday. I went out this afternoon and started taping up openings. I taped the cover on the compass. I taped the vents. I had to deal with the hole in the pop-top that the mast goes through. I taped a garbage bag over it and covered it with tape. I taped the lazerette covers closed (one has no latch nor hinges).

After a short, last sail befoe the storm, I finished up.

I removed the genoa from the furler and the main sail. I removed the pennant halyards. Flags are fun, but not crucial. I tightened all halyards. I checked my mooring pennant and reseated the chafe guards.

Come on Irene.

My boat is sitting on the trailer next to my house. You watch, it'll probably get hit by a tree limb. Good luck guys.

Irene - please become a gentle wind!
Most coastal sailors appear to have properly prepared and secured their vessels... It is time to assist the other mariners (power boaters) to protect all interest!
Be Safe and good luck...
