main sale, did you read that post through? Why did that hunters rudder fall off, must have been some other rationalization, if not you'll think of one.
That post had JUST come in today, a person here (at least allegedly) wanted info for comparison? After reading the posts though he just wanted folks to say what he wanted to hear, and you did.
I would not say you have a huge ego here, then I didn't know Napoleon Bonapart either.You sound like you know boats, and you have many go along with you, but it is just business isn't it?
If you would read and comprehend before shooting off with a trigger finger....;-) you would see that I wrote, "Hunters are eyepleasers, and a good bay boat."
How many Hunters have you sailed on main? No, don't mean your many mags, books and trips to the boat-shows.
The first time I sailed on one, thought it was a great boat, sure was pretty and sailed well too.When you have been sailing as long as I have....you are not looking for a pretty face....;-) naw that was over by the time I reached thirty mate;
FUNCTION AND SEAWORTHY.Words, yes, mean different things to different folks, but I am very definite what they mean to me.
I can send many, many problems that are found with the Hunter sailboat, but this one here where it sank had just come across my desk here.
Not only did a hunter lose its keel bolts 1/2 way from Newport Beach to Hawaii on us and nearly killed the crew, she was giving us lots of grief before that, power, engine, bilge pump, fresh water pump and the head.This yacht was beautiful and only three years old! In her defense and folks are always DEFENDING Hunters, whe had been in charter service for the last two years, sold cheaply and had a broker-friendly survey performed to push the deal through + we ended up having one day for the off-shore delivery and leave soon after.
I have lots of awful stories of Hunters over the years, use to be a power boat company then wanted into the yuppie market, so, ALL BUSINESS.
Made for cocktails at the dockside, a bit of a sail, impress friends, a purfect boat for you mane.
Strange that these Hunters, 1980 - 1985 37 ft; sell for about the same as a Hans Christian same year & length, now why do you suppose that is?
