Jason Currie from Quantum Sails, Annapolis, came to my 2011 Hunter 39 to take measurements for a new mainsail. He said the top outhaul line should be connected via a block to the lower part of the line (See two photos for current and recommended configuration). I purchased the boat in its current configuration. Can anyone provide a description/part number of the necessary block? Thanks, John D.

I have a Hunter41DS.
The car has two attachment points - for the outhaul and a block.
EDIT: Also look at the blocks at the baes of your mast - they will be similar to what you want here. A little shackle and the spring to keep them from flopping around.

Also for Selden rigs - if you look at the base of the mast, you will find a serial number / part number etched in. That will correlate back to the model number and from there, you can find the relevant documentation directly from Selden about how they suggest to do the rigging.

Here is a picture of the routing from the Selden manual.
Notice where the plastic donut is located. I’ve seen so many people have it in the wrong place. It goes between the boom and the clew of the sail, not between the sail and the block.

MFD, Quadrille 38, and Lemoiney,

I very much appreciate your helpful comments, Seldon diagram, and photo showing the correct car configuration. Interesting that my Seldon manual shows a slightly different configuration than that provided by Quadrille 38. Currently looking for the correct car online. Thanks again, John D.

Now I have another conversation starter for the local YC or waterfront bar.
Or while visiting strangers when going to/from the boat with the dingy.
Where do you keep your donuts?...
