I just had my boat taken out of the water and the marina put the supports for the boatabout 2 feet from the sling spots that are indicated on the hull in the bow area. Is this a problem??Thank you
to set the stands at the bulkheads, they use 6 stands, one set at the foreward bulkhead, at the mast, one mid way, and one set at the engine area. They also block the bow with concrete blocks and wood blocks.
JK is correct - jack stands should be positioned where there are bulkheads and other support inside the hull. If not, over the winter the hull will slowly indent (oil can)and deform at the jackstands. This will usually reverse itself when the boat is put back in the water next season but it is bad boat handling.I would not trust concrete blocks and wood under my boat. Ask the marina to use only jackstands.
