Hunter 22 Sink Proof?

Well I’m not sure any boat is truly “sink-proof” but this is what Hunter published for the 216

It states 1500 lbs of positive flotation.
The H22-2 is basically the same boat but has an outer skin of FRP instead of Luran and as a result somewhat heavier but likely almost as “floaty”.
Worst case - the boat broke in pieces the sections would still float.
Pretty safe boat as it self bails and has positive flotation.

Your boat has foam flotation within the hull which is stated in the owners manual under boat inf/Hunter resources/22/downloads. As for the open transom in following seas, the waves raise the back end of the boat without any water coming into the cockpit.
