Hunter 19-2 rigging diameter?

I purchased a 1996 Hunter 19-2. I am starting to think that the wire rigging may have been replaced and is the wrong size (too small). This based on several factors.

Anyone out there with a 19-2……can you confirm the DIAMETER of your forestry and shrouds? I am looking for an exact measurement (dial caliper), not just a guess.

Thanks, David

Hi David,
Congrats on your new to you sailboat.
The Hunter 19 is a lightweight boat. Not seeing your rigging it would be difficult to say that a previous owner changed the rigging.
This link might help to understand your boat.
It would be my assumption that the manufacture installed the rigging that met the Marine Design Engineer specified.

Perhaps you can supply additional information that helps you conclude the rigging is too light.

Look at the manual which shows the standing rigging specs. You can download it from this site.

@sail sfbay I looked for the manual, but could not find it for the Hunter 19-2.
DO you have a link?

What are the shroud diameters on your boat?

It being a 1996, can you ask the previous owner if they refit the mast with new shrouds?

The important page is the rigging page. It indicates 1/8”.

If all your shrouds are 1/8 then indeed the rigging is to design standards.
