Hull scratch

In trying to dock my C320 in high winds, I scratched the hull above the waterline. Seems not to be deep but it still killed me because the boat is brand new. It's kind of like the first scratch on a new car. Anyway, how deep does a scratch have to be before it needs to be repaired. The boat rubbed against the rubber on my dock to give you an idea of the height of the scratch. Thanks, Pat

Is it a scratch?

Is it a "scratch" or could some of the rubber have rubbed off leaving a streak that kinda looks like a scratch? If it's the latter, it's usually pretty easy to clean up. If the gelcoat is truly scratched, try a little rubbing compound/polish. Go with light stuff first & work your way to the hard core stuff. Congrats on the new boat! LaDonna

Stop, No, Stop! Go BACK . . .

Wait! Since this is blem #1 on a new boat, you have a decision to make here. Fix this scratch and what happens the next time? Are you gonna fix that one too? It'll never ever end. Don't you see. This is your big chance to safe yourself a lot of time, money and grief. Let every bump, ding and dent stand as is. And save your money for good Rum :) Enjoy your new Boat! Nick "Julia Bell" #86
