Solid Hulls - Cored Decks
Everything I've read along the way says that Catalina builds solid fiberglass hulls and uses coring materials only in the decks. The core materials in the decks are either end grain balsa or plywood - depending on the area of the deck and the amount of reenforcement needed. Everybody always suggests that you can get parts from Catalina Direct, and good information directly from the Catalina factory about your boat. Are you sure your 1980 boat has gate valves in it?
