I had a lot of surface corrosion on my engine. I found the source of salt water that was causing the issue. I took a wire brush to the corrosion, painted it will Corroseal then primer and Yanmar gray engine paint. The Corroseal stops the corrosion and turns black and seals it. I have not had corrosion return in 2 years where I have done this. I have also added a salt away rinse to my engine maintenance schedule.
A quart is all you should need, it also has a long shelf life.
