How to install pad eye on v-berth ceiling for infant lee cloth attachment point

It's really not possible without cutting a hole in the head liner.

On many boats the hole in the headliner is covered with a piece of plastic that matches the color of the headliner (more or less).
I had to do this in my forward cabin a couple years ago. I used one of these:


It made for a fairly unnoticeable way to both allow me to cut the hole I needed, cover the cut line, and allow me to subsequently inspect the attachment point. Now, I was installing a connection to something on my deck, so it remains covered unless I want to inspect. I guess in your case, you could leave it covered unless you are accessing the connection to attach the line for the lee cloth.

It would depend upon how much space there is between the headliner and the deck if this would work for you or not. I have several inches between my headliner and the deck used for insulation...
