I've gone a long long ways, backwards.

Much of the interior joinerwork is torn out.
The entire holding tank system and piping has been removed.
The chainplates have been removed
The standing rigging is all scrapped.
One of the mast spreader mounts is off the mast and the other will be soon.
The exhaust hose is removed.
The propeller is off.

Who knows where it will end at this rate?
A pile of parts? ;)

re: hydrocoat

So far we've reuphostered the interior and prepared to repaint. I took a pressure washer to the hull and blew about 90% of the old bottom paint off. I'll scrape the Klingons later, then sand it smooth. I decided on Hydrocoat for a few reasons. Seems like a good product.
I have been using it for the past six years in Boston. The water cleanup and low VOC are nice. The only thing I could even say is an issue is that it seems to build up quickly so I took to using it (it is multi-season paint) for two seasons, with just a recoat of the water line and leading edges the second year. That has helped quite a bit.

Spring? What is that?

We got six inches of snow last week at home while we were touring Italy last week. I did finally get out to the boat to check on it a few weeks ago and she survived the winter and its 4+ feet of snow fine.

The only progress I made is that I finally talked my Wife into helping me make a sunbrella companionway cover. We discussed the project and ordered the thread and hardware from Sailrite. It came in while we were gone. She asked about fabric, and I told her that I already had about 15 yards of pacific blue sunbrella hidden in her sewing room

I need to get off my butt and get my new freshwater tank ordered so I can get it replaced soon. The first day back from vacation my Wife told me that she wanted to make a list of things we needed to do and that she would need my "help" with some of them. Hmmmm....sounds like a faintly disguised "honey-do" list as her typical modus operandi is that I get to do 50% of whatever "she" has to do along with 100% of my stuff (yard work...car repair and restoration...boat maintenance...etc...).

So far...I've reserved my launch slot for the morning of May 9th. That's about it. The only thing I really want to do before launch is clean and wax the topsides. Everything else can be done in the water where it's a lot easier than climbing the ladder with an armload of parts.
I will be installing a brand spankin' new head and holding tank system, oil pressure sensor, and new alternator bracket.
More small "mess about" projects but nothing major.

HA! List or Wish List?

So far:

Bottom painted
Keel trailing edge faired and glassed
Rudder shimmed (gotta love Chinese Food lids)
Cleaned old name off
Cleaned a lot of yellow staining off
New prop shaft
New stuffing box hose and packing
Zincs
Mast pulled
Boat refloated

To do:

New rigging
All rope main halyard
Mast wiring
Anchor light
Steaming light
Check chain plates
Re-step mast

I think that is the bare minimum to get back to sailing safely till the middle of summer. To danged hot for me out on the water, but I can close the hatches and turn on the portable AC and get some work done inside :D Then enjoy some fall sailing, then more work with the heater going over winter lol. . .or maybe move in

I wanted to paint the topsides over the summer, but am debating a second haul out. . .also not going to have the 155 Genny recovered right now, $500-$600 quote back burned that :snooty: I have a near brand new 135 I'm going to run up the furler and use for now, lol. . .
