I hope someone can help me figure out how the sink is supposed to drain into the head. Mine was torn up and I am not sure how it is supposed to work and I can't find any information on the design. Would someone let me know how this works or better yet send a picture of theirs. Thanks in advance Steve 1980 Cat 27

Shares a thru hull

I might be mistaken, but I seem to recall that the sink in the head shared the thru-hull with the head intake line. With the valve open, the sink would drain out the thru hull. Or, the head would intake raw water for flushing. With the valve closed, the sink drain water would be pumped into the head as flush water - until the sink was drained - and you'd start to hear air noises indicating you were pumping dry. Hope that helps a little. Tim Brogan April IV C350 #68 (was Inamorata C27 # 6111) Seattle

sink drain

Steve,it is unclear if you are referring to a sink in the head or galley sink. If galley sink, my C27 has a thru hull just forward of the sink, and discharges directly to the lake. The head (without any sink) discharges to the holding tank. Hope this helps.

valve in the line? T fitting?

So is the valve you are writing about inline with the sink/toilet or are you talking about the through hull gate valve? I was thinking that there would be a T-fitting in the water line from the sea cock to the toilet. I think this is what you are describing. (yes, I am talking about the sink in the head) Thanks!
