Anyone have trouble replacing the hot water engine hoses going to the hot water tank on 87 hunter legend? Can't seem to pull the old ones out to put the new ones in. Are they fasten inside the hull pan grid system?

Most likely. Just remove the screws that secure the floorboards down and lift them. That should give you plenty of access.

thanks for the reply. floors boards are up but the hoses enter the holes in the fiberglass grid pan. seems they are stuck between the engine compartment and under the floor near heater. pulling on both ends with no movement on the other end. looks like cutting a hole in the grid for inspection to see if it clamped inside.

They may have gotten into some of the glue used to glue the grid to the hull.. Only other thing would be to try to push (hard) the hose end to buclle the hose inside the grid beam and possibly free it from the glue.. You may be able to borrow a flexible lighted bore scope to see in there without messing with holes in a structural member.. If you do cut, cut the top flat part and not the sides and leave a little flange around the hole .. make nice radiused corners..

The hoses might have swollen over time and are interferring with the holes in the fiberglass grid. Can you twist them? Maybe if you wind them up, they might reduce in diameter and pull out. I don't know if you can sufficiently reduce the diameter by pulling a vacuum on the hose after plugging one end.

On my 32, they had nylon cable ties on them somewhere within the grid. I broke the ties, but it was an act of faith to pull so hard without knowing what was going on.

Maybe you can try enlarging the grid holes slightly to allow you to see what is holding them or if the hole is large enough it may pass through.
