My boat, a 1986 Pearson P36-2 came with an old Hood 914 (?) continual line furling system. Not really to pleased with it though after cleaning it up it works well and I have been able to reef the sail with it. Anyway, Hood has a replacement head for the unit...it is the Hood 900 series. The cost when you exchange is half the retail cost or about $800+/-. My wife and I right now are coastal cruisers....a lot of day sailing, like to go fast but not into racing, hate to fight with a system and do want to furling/reef unit (I guess they all are these days?). I would hate to get the replacement and have it not perform well. If that is the case I would rather wait and pay more for a unit that will last and be bullet proof and leave one less thing to worry about. Does anybody have the unit and what is your experiences with it. Any suggestionsAgain thanks as alwaysGreg
