So, I purchased some new line to replace the furling on my Hood 900 series furler (early 1990's, below-deck installation; see photo). Anyhow, there is a shroud which has to come off to replace the line. It is attached by what appear to be nylon screws. Aside from access issues, I backed away from putting much torque on the screws for fear they would shear.
So, I'm sure someone has been down this path before and can give me a heads-up on the process; it would be appreciated.
