I have a Catalina 30, vintage 1984, with the Hood SeaFurl 705 LD mainsail furler. I need to learn how and where the furler line was routed. I think I found the furler line, cut into 3 pieces, with several blocks hanging on the pieces. But, I have no idea what goes where, including where on the mast.

I can see how the line ceomes off the furler forward to a block on each side of the mast to route it down the sides of the mast. The starboard side of the lower mast has a fairlead, the port side only a couple of holes that are not very far apart - not far enough apart for a fairlead to be attached. Other than that I have no clues.

The manual instructions have nothing about routing for specific applications.

Do you have a C30 with the mainsail Hood mainsail furler? If so will you help with instructions or a diagram or pictures?

I didn't want U to think I was ignoring your post Boo. But I think you'll find that your vertical mainsail furler is a very rare setup. Its great for the convenience of furling the main & not having to flake it. The drawback is that there cannot be any horizontal battons installed which can really hurt the sail shape & efficiency of the mainsail. On the plus side it should be very easy to reef your sail, once you get that furling line installed. I have a friend who had your main furler on his S 2. I'll ask him how it was routed & rigged.
Theoretically it should be set up almost identical to a jib furler system. I know that CDI furlers sells them as well. Perhaps they have a diagram / pics of the set up on their website. Ps. Did you get that diesel running / splashed the boat yet? Cheers, Jeremy
