Help:I have a 1996 Hunter 336 with a Freedom 20 Inverter and bought a Honda 2000kW portable generator. It cost less than $1,000 as several of you have told us here, and it works great. Hot water within about 20 minutes without starting the engine, top off those batteries, everything I hoped for. Now I can install that A/C without worrying about the $7,000 generator. Only, I have a problem. When I plug the generator into my shore power plug I get a faint glow in the reverse polarity light on the electric panel. We plugged into my neighbor’s Out Island 41 and the glow was not there. It is not the generator. I have something wired incorrectly or not properly grounded on my boat. (There is no glow when I am plugged into shore power.) I have never had a problem with my zinc and it was gone last time I had a guy dive on my boat. He has been replacing the zinc once every two years or so, and that one lasted a few months. Also, my knot paddle, which was in the water only while I was sailing and at anchor, is more corroded that ever before and I always take it out when I leave the boat to sit for a while (did not happen at the dock). It is not any one of these things, but the combination that bothers me.I am concerned about using the generator until I understand the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance,RodneyS/V Avanti H336
