holding tank vent

The head mistress says you need to have a good vent in and out of your holding tank to promote aerobic decompsition (and reduced odors) My 270 came with a small single vent from the base of one of the stanchions. Has anyone tried to upgrade this with a second vent and how and where did you sdo it?

So far the only thing that has worked for me was installing a air vent filter, it cost about 72.00 dollars... is worth it.
