Has anyone removed a holding tank from a C30? I must have incorrectly winterized it and it leaked this winter. The connections do not not appear to have any leaking or staining. So I am assuming it split internally. I have a 1990 model & have to replace it. I was hoping to make a factory replacemnt but it doesn't appear the old one will come out without destroying the material holding it in place. I still don't know if it will come out ,without it being cut up. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Joe

Tank Replacement

I'm going thru the same thing on a 1981 30. A friend and I are going to get some Coronas and cut the old one out with a saws all. I only do 2-3 day trips so I'm looking at a Ronco B217 10-13 gallon as a replacement. Hopefully I won't have to saw the boat in half to put it in.

leak

Just a thought. Have you tried filling up the holding tank with water to see where the leak is. If it is small there are some great epoxy's out there that might do the trop. Or use fiber glass and resin to patch the leak if you can reach it.

Ronco Plastic

Joe, I replace my a couple of years ago, it was not leaking, but stinks, it lost impermeability. First verify if the leaking is not the hoses connections, in, out and vent. If the tank is the problem, then call Ronco Plastic. It was half price for Catalina owners when I bough my. You have to cut the fiberglass to remove the plywood panels surrounding the tank (aft and port side) Then the tank should come out upward without too much effort. Be sure the new tank is a 1/4 thick, no less. Good look, AE
