I have a Hunter sailboat, and guages on holding tank seem to get stuck regularly, so hard to know when full. I have heard Calgon helps, any other suggestions?

Remove, clean, replace...

Remove, clean, replace... there are detailed directions and comments on the archives here. Alternatively, replace the gauge system with one from Snake River. Their sensor is metal foil on the "outside" of the tank. It will never get clogged with the fatty material inside the holding tank. Good Luck, Scott

Marine Sanitation

Marine Sanitation in Seattle sells a system of three sticky pads with wires in them that you just stick to the outside of the tank. A wire runs to a small panel which lights up to show the level when you push the button. Ours has worked flawlessly for several years now. One thing I like is I placed the top sensor a little lower than the top of the tank so I still have room for a flush or two when it reads full. System offers great flexibility. I don't think this gadget is in M/S catalog so you will have to call them. http://www.marinesan.com/

Check out the Profile gauges

http://ferriellosales.com/default.php Exceptional quality and outstanding customer service for a very reasonable price. And, their senders are compatible with most other panels, making it unnecessary in most cases to replace anything but the sender. Btw...Snake River is out of business.

Profile Gauges

Peggie: Thanks for the letter. Just to let you know that our Profile Legacy Panels are standard equiptment on the Catalina 309,320,350,387,400 and the 440. Also our sensors are like Peggie said compatable with the old Snake River units. Dennis Ferriello
