Well........without getting into the physics......unless you want to......I don't think your hitch will be up to the leverage. If you use a square tube with adequate wall thickness....and you have the proper tongue weight times a six foot lever......something on that hitch is going to be upset with you. Cut your tongue off the trailer.....insert your six foot tube....drill the required holes for bolts/pins.....cut a square hole in the back of the crossmember so the tube will slide through.......you will be happy with the result.
