Hinged Mast Step

Considering adding the hinged mast step produced by Catalina Direct. Does any one have any experience with this addition. Concerned if it is heavy enough for use in the Gulf and will clearance be a problem. The existing step's side clearances are extremely close.

GENE , I HAVE A HINGED MAST STEP ON MY CAT 27. IT SEEMS TO DO VERY WELL. NOT SURE IF IT IS FROM CATALINA DIRECT SINCE IT WAS ON THE BOAT WHEN PURCHASED USED ONE YEAR AGO. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN LOOKING AT IT THE BOAT "SEAS THE DAY" IS LOCATED AT SEABROOK SHIPYARD SLIP M13, OR GIVE ME A CALL. DAVE MARKS 713-641-5360 DAY
