A bit of a wild guess here but grind off one end to release and through bolt it to put back on??? Maybe

Generally, there are thru bolts and then pop rivets. On pop rivets, simply figure out the size pop rivet and then drill out with a drill and correct bit. As for the other item on mast where it appears two shrouds are connected to one piece, never saw that but probably a big pop rivet as there is not thru bolt.

Thanks,

It was through bolted. The picture is with the bolt removed. I will check out the pop rivet. It just seem like a big rivet.

Looks like a spacer to me, not a pop rivet. These hold the tangs and the bolt (that I assume you removed) goes through the mast. Kenyon mast I assume.

Actually they call it a Bushing:

There should be a bushing on each side of the mast which you should be able to knock out by lightly tapping with a punch or long screwdriver from the opposite side. Corrosion has probably fused the stainless steel and aluminum together so using a product such as PB Blaster could be your best friend. good luck, let us know how it works out.

Blitz, thank you very much. I was just on to that hunch. I have seen the bushings at rig rite. The one thing is that the bushings on each side spin together. I think there may be a compression tube that the bushings are mated to.

It appears I will have to pry these things apart without screwing up the mast.

If it is a Kenyon Isomat mast, the company shut down long time ago; however the same folks are back in business as Charleston Spar and I forgot the other name. They are located in Charlotte, NC and ask for Jim Culibert. He is very knowledgable.
