110% vs 140%??
Phillp, To answer your question when to reef? is usually when you are uncomfortable with the heel or just not feeling in control(over powered, roundin up,ect).. I use a 135 and a 155, the 135 is for early spring and late fall the 155 for 80% of the year. The only reason I use the 135 is I know the winds stay in 20 to 30 kts range and I won't need more power. If I had to pick one or the other I go with the larger because, so what if you have to reef (pull on one string)all that tells me is you are moving as fast as you want to and don't need the extra sail up. But if you get stuck in lower winds a lot, you can't add sail to that 110 and you do what you can or start the engine.. bottom line is for us without a locker full of money or sails, the RF gives you a full range of sail for most conditions, but when rolled up it might be UGLY!! so you are doing your hull speed as comfortablly as possible..Get the foam luff it will take away some of the ugly..IMHOMike WD9EOUC-38 s/v "Chute the Breeze"Michigan City, IN
