Preparing my Catalina for some offshore cruising but need some help. Does anyone have or seen a 27 Caatalina (with fold down table) with a Y-valve and discharge thru hull for the head. If you do, where is the thru hull placed. Not enough room on the starboard bow as I have speed, depth, and head inlet thru hulls at that location. Two choices appear to be in the port closet (necessitates cutting big hole in liner, not sure if that would compromise strength) or the port bench storage compartment (long hose run and uses up prime storage.)

27 catalina discharge thru hull

I have a 1975 27 catalina (traditional layout) with a Y-valve off the toilet - one hose leading to holding tank under starboard settee and one hose leading to direct discharge thru hull also under starboard settee aft of the holding tank. I assume you have the holding tank in the V. I figure you could have a thru hull under the settee like I do.

Discharge thru hull

On my 86 model, it is in the starboard bow with the depth, speed, and head intake. It is pretty crowded in there. You might think about moving the head intake to the compartment below the sink (where it should have been in the first place) and enlarge the one in the bow for your discharge. Just a thought.
