Have you checked the strainer under the sink in the head, Bob? It's amazing how quickly that thing gets blocked up!I cannot pump water from either my shower or my fridge - problem is that the pump needs to be replaced. At least it is in a convenient place.
. Yep I'm in the same boat.bobjames said:I cannot pump water from either my shower or my fridge - problem is that the pump needs to be replaced.
Yes and yesHave you checked the strainer under the sink in the head, Bob? It's amazing how quickly that thing gets blocked up!
Yes and yes
I totally think this is the case for me as well. Going to give it a try this weekend. THANKSWellerH said:Sorry for the late reply. On my boat, #199 ,the OUTLET from the shower sump pump tees into the INLET for the head and exits the boat via the head inlet seacock. As a result of that strange arrangement the shower sump pump will run but not move any water unless the head inlet seacock is open. I suppose if the seacock is closed and the head pump seals leak a little then sump water could find its way into the head as described.
DarrenwbSo I replaced the bottom and top gaskets with the upper and lower kits... For less than $30. Sump works like new!
Interesting. I have Hull #178 and have 2 through hulls under the galley. Does not go through the head inlet.Hull #218 has same setup Wellerh describes. There is a drain from the fridge which goes to a y-valve under the head sink. The other inlet to the y-valve services the shower sump. Outlet from the Y-valve is teed to head raw water inlet. To pump the shower sump the y-valve has to be oriented correctly and the head raw water thru hull has to be open.
There is only one thru hull under the Galley sink which is a dedicated sink drain only.
How did you find that glob? Then I would be suspicious of the Y valve itself. I found a glob of crap in mine.
