in front of the slope. Or two wmall lexan hatches on each side of the center line to give light and ventilation to the vee berth. Way cheaper than modifying the curved front of the cabin and purchasing the specially made lexan hatch for $500. The 1982 and up c27s have the forward hatch on the sloping part rather than the flat area in front of the mast. At first it seems like a good idea, but it leaves you with no standing head room in the head/locker area. On my boat, with the hatch propped open I can stand up when I pee. The problem is that it's dark in the vee berth. My answer would be the two small, flat hatches such as those made by Lewmar, One over each bunk. Make sure they are closed when sailing so the sheets won't get tangled up.
