Yes I had a storm jib « gale sail » type and a storm trisail on a separate mast track for ten years on my last boat. I crossed the Atlantic four times. I test-raised the sails in moderate conditions along with my safety rudder.
I never used any of these in storms; we just reduced to minimum and held tight while tethered on. There is no way I’d go on deck to raise a storm sail in a force 6 gale!
Yes I know… reduce early etc…

BTW, That Gale Sail thing in the ad looks way too big for a storm jib. I've never liked the idea of a storm jib located so far forward and high off the deck... same as the genoa. Much prefer an inner forestay with a hank on storm jib, no more than 60%, where it can be set lower and back (closer to center of effort) aligning better with the third mainsail reef. But you already have this sail and I think if you just want to try it out for those 25+ kt days, and not going offshore... then having a sleeve made to warp around the furled headsail, to be closed with the existing hanks of the sail could probably work decently.

I have one for my 466, 150 sq ft. I bent it on once just so I knew how to do it. I'd rather have the 100 sq ft one but my buddy selling his 460 made me a great offer. I would use this as a spare jib. I would not fancy going to the foredeck in storm conditions and try to wrestle that in place. And as said earlier, reef early, I know.
