I just received my mast plate/halyard organizer from Mauri Pro (great price, looks sweet) and want to make sure I have the right ends fore and aft before I drill the holes. There are four holes on port and starboard, then one end has three holes in-line, and the other has three in a triangular pattern. I'm thinking that the triangular, staggard pattern would be useful forward of the mast, since it would be hard to direct a line out from the middle hole if it was at the same height as the other two around it. I won't be using the forward holes on the plate immediately, but hope to fly a spin someday and I want to make sure I get this right on the first try. Any input is appreciated.

Triangular........

holes go aft on my boat. Previous owner set it up so that the boomvang attaches to this side. Works real well for my Pearson 30. frank

second that thought, traingular is for the boom vang... maybe

So it needs to go aft. Alternately, it may be used for a whisker pole downhaul so then it goes forward... gee, guess it depends on your boat set up. How very convenient!

be carefull

I have been considering on of these for my boat, but am concerned with it interfering with the tabernacle pins. Let me know how it works for you. That will certainly make running lines aft much easier and cleaner. Ross in Tampa

Consider a spacer

I added a halyard plate organizer to my boat and had to put in a 1" spacer of Seaboard becasue of the tabernacle pins. It also helped in being able to tighten the standing rigging a little more (pre-cut rig'n from Rudy)
