H34 toe rail

Hi everyone

Stripping the hardware off the deck of my h34 to repaint and wondering if I should remove the toe rail as well?

No you can't remove it is sandwiched between the hull and the top decking. You would need to rebed the deck to hull joint. Just paint around it.

I agree with others that you should not remove the toe rail to paint the deck, just tape it off. It can be removed though if you don't mind removing about 140 hard to access nuts on the underside of the deck! There is a black mastic like material that seals the rail to the deck, but is is pretty soft. As you can see in the pdf, there is a source for the Cherubini Hunter toe rails even today.
