My 36 came with an open hole for that area, under the anchor locker. I keep my socks and underwear in there
I AM about to install a door into the space under the V Berth - having to pull up the vberth cushions and sheets to get in there is a royal pain
My Cherubini H36 came with a screw attached panel that separated the forward part of the sleeping cushions section and the (say) further 5' toward the bow. I have removed the panel since long ago when I required access to the forward area for toe rail bolt tightening, leaks associated with the bolts for anchor roller and the anchor windlass, and also to tighten the bolts securing the bow stem piece to the FRP hull. After several removals and re-installations of the panel for these tasks, I eventually realized that other than for aesthetics, the panel wasn't really needed.
Yes, I now have a few extra cubic feet to stuff stuff into.
Underneath the interior "deck" on which the V-berth cushions reside, the Cherubini Hunter 36's have a large void space. Hunter supplied a hatch opening to this area for storage. This hatch is what Actel refers to being aggravating.
