@Fred, thanks, yeah I was thinking about replacing my plastic / nylon hardware. I did see that my collapsible bimini is an AmeriSeam so I may try calling them for instruction manual.
I was thinking maybe I could make the bimini higher over the stern rail seats and lower in the front. Even better would be telescoping front poles so it could be higher when anchored and lower when sailing.
