H260 and tide goes far out grounding it, mud squirts up bottom hole into ballast tank?

Here in Houston when North wind blows the water drops at my marina to 1 foot from 5 foot normal, grounding boat. Water level in h260 ballast tank hole is 10 inches lower than normal. I wonder did designers test to see if mud squirts up the partly unsealed bottom round tank hole in this situation? As a positive with less water in tank the strain on dock lines is less. Just wondered. I will swim under later and poke finger in to feel for mud. AND SO FAR THE SWING KEEL SEEMS FINE. Hmmm. D

Why is your ballast tank valve partly unsealed? If you are losing water at low tide.... then you are also losing water when heeled over. Not good.

Next time on the trailer... crawl under and see if your gasket has left this earth. There should be a circular neoprene gasket around the lip of the valve cover plate. I had to rebuild mine on my H26. I used goop. I have a pic someplace but can't find it right now. With the tank valve open I took some masking tape and made a dam around the lip of the valve cover... then I poured a tupe of goop onto the valve cover and let it sit for a few days..... now I had a hard rubber coating about 1/4" deep on the valve plate. When I closed the plate tight, it made a water tight seal.

First, draft with centerboard up is 1 ft and 9. Inches. Anything less may damage centerboard to and/or centerboard housing. Also steering is more difficult with rudder not fully deployed.
As for your question did Hunter test to see if mud or sand could get into the hull, the answer is no. That was left up to me with me to do. The hull is in a raised position leaning sideways. I did not want to damage the hull.

Houston, when the wind blows the water out it can be 48 hours of being basically on dryland, and with 2000 pounds of water in h26 I dont think the good seal and the plug, these 2 holes, can be expected to retain water. If a person didn't drain their ballast and pulled their h26 onto trailer and out of water we would expect the water to leak out slowly. I am not complaining, I just wondered how tests showed h26 performs if basically grounded on nearly dry land for days. . . . . . Here in Houston any kind of keel in our mud which is like pudding seems to be enough strength so boats dont lean unless 1 of 4 ropes break and have clear imbalance. So it is good for uprightness in grounding that the keel pokes out a little bit. It really is like pudding. . . .. . Sometimes I have to power thru the pudding when suddenly hit 1.5 ft shallows, and mid bay there is pure mud no clams so seems to be fine. .. . . . . I am an amateur but wonder stuff
