Throttle Cable Clamp

Jon, attached is a picture of the cable clamp. You may be able to get a little more travel by loosening and pulling back slightly to set how it pulls for more RPM. just make sure that when the lever on the pedestal is fully aft, the speed control lever still touches the idle speed stop.

Can someone suggest a source for a mixing elbow?

I am having the folks at Western Branch Diesel in Portsmouth, VA look at the engine. I will report back as they illuminate my incompetence.

Well, the kind people over at Western Branch Diesel checked out my engine and found that the tachometer reads low. The technician with the hand tachometer read 3486 and the cockpit instrument was at 3000. At idle the technician had 860 while the cockpit read 700. When I have the throttle to the stop in the cockpit and I read 2750, the hand tachometer gave 3046. I suppose I am OK after all. I was a bit concerned that it had taken me two years to address a possible engine fault.
