I am re-routing some duplex wiring from the bilge pump to my battery in the aft battery compartment. I would like to "tack" the wire to the surface of the aft berth with a low profile wire clip, but of course, don't want to drive a screw down into a "wet" area below. Does anyone know what is directly below the area between the bilge and the port side of the battery compartment? (water ballast tank? deep blue sea?) If driving screws is not a good idea, I may resort to some type of adhesive to hold down the wiring. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, BrianW

Brian,
I believe the aft of the 26 is identical to the 260, which I can speak to. When I installed my depth and speed sensors I drilled through. It had a surface of fiberglas and gelcoat or paint, about 5/8" of coring and then the hull with fiberglas and epoxy coating. Rather than break into the coring without sealing the surface as I did, I'd suggest you use 3M 5200 to adhere the clips.
