Need Instructions

Art or Steve

Got my remote control this afternoon but no instructions. I can guess what the red and black wires are for but where do I wire it into the contactor?

Art I assume your H 49 and My H 44 are similar. Would appreciate any info.

Thanks
Marc

Mine arrived today as well. Also w/o instructions. But assuming red and black are + and -, then the other wires will go to the contactor up and down terminals - the same ones the current buttons are wired to. All you can do is get it backwards. If so, just reverse the wires.

Guess Canada mail takes longer.
Yes, red & black go to + & - power.
The other 2 wires are the control on the windlass relay.
The wiring is very simple:
On your existing foot switches, they are wired to the 12 V+. The output from each switch feeds the control terminals on the relay.
All you need to do is connect the other 2 wires to the same place the foot switches hook up to on the relay.
If it goes in the wrong direction, reverse the wires.

What a deal!!!
This is very nicely packaged, fits in the palm perfectly.

Powered it up. Range is > 50 ft.
The white wire is "in"
Yellow wire is "out"

There are other similar remotes for the same $10 price range.
It was bizarre that this guy raised his price from $10 to $60 following my post.
I should have said instead of "great deal"... "a good deal at $10, but I woukdn't pay more than $11 for it".

In any case, this isn't what I would call IP66 waterproof. It is "be somewhat careful and don't drop it in the drink" weather resistant. But for the price of 2 beers, it ain't bad. (Canadian beer by the way)

Just wired mine up

just got back from wiring mine up. Works great! The only comments I've got are (1) it makes it even more necessary than before that you turn off the circuit breaker to the windlass when your're not using it. I can easily see some clueless kid picking up the remote, turning it on, and pressing the 'IN' button when the anchor is already fully up; and (2) it's a lot harder to inch the anchor in with the remote than it is with the foot switch. The foot switch responds instantly, both on and off, while the remote has a slight delay, and runs the windlass for about 1/2 second or so even if all you want is a quick pulse.

All in all, a great expenditure of $10!

Re: Just wired mine up

Glad it worked out. I agree that turning off the breaker is a good idea if somebody might "play" with this. The slight lag you speak if is common to most any wireless remote. I always use the foot switches for the last few inches of snugging up the anchor for this reason. At that point, it is aleady 99% up an in place, do no issue with doing that.
