WHATS THE TRICK TO GET A ODAY 25' TO GO TO WEATHER BETTER. TIP THE MAST AFT A LITTLE? WHEN RACING WITH OTHER 25'ODAYS IT WON`T GO TO WEATHER WITH THEM. SAILS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. ANY HELP OUT THERE. USE TO RACING C 25 BOAT.

Well . . .

That's a hard question without access to the boat. Some things to look at -Keel and rudder - they provide the lift to take you to windward. Are they fair? Clean? Disturbed flow over the keel will kill your pointing ability.Bottom - the hull bottom fair? Clean? The faster you go the higher you can point, to a point. If you're losing boat speed to a messy bottom you're losing pointing ability as well.Travler and Genoa lead car positions - the easiest thing to do is ask the other O25's how they're setting their lead cars and travlers. Halyard tensions, outhaul tensions, cunningham, vang on and on - it all matters, that's why its there.I'd suggest getting someone off one of the other O25's to sail with you. Sail shape

R. You said that your sails are in good shape. Is your sail shaped good? A full sail is not the best for going to weather. Flatter sails tend to allow you to point higher.I agree with Justin and his advice.One thing you can do is to put "tell tales " on the jib and main. This will tell you alot about how you are trimming the sails.Are your sails the same size as the other 25 O'Days?I would do as Justin suggested. Sail with one of the other 25's to see how they handle their boat. Check the sail size and shape while you are aboard.I do have my mast vertical. It has helped with weather helm.r.w.landau
