I scammed Phil Herring out of Lunch!

I actually did as I met up with Phil, Bly (his lovely business partner - clearly the beauty and brains of SBO), Rod (aka RC, aka Maine Sail) and a few others. We had a great time at the Boatyard Bar and Grill.

We talked about all kinds of stuff and I learned a lot about how SBO operates. In one fascinating tid bit, did you know that the service department of one major boat builder's service organization actually checks the blogs every morning to see what kinds of calls they would be getting? In another discussion it was noted how the blogs are pretty much self correcting and you guys *gasp* are pretty fair overall when talking about products.

My wife had a blast as we were able to get out of the rain, although she was already having a great day (she got to hang out with me at the boat show :D) she enjoyed talking with Bly and during lunch it seemed that the rain really decided to come out and spank Annapolis.

Really good thing that Phil gave everyone new Musto Rain Gear. I can attest that the hoods worked great as Maine Sails abundant hair was totally dry. He looked nothing like I imagined as I always thought he would be some grizzled old guy (see attached picture), but nothing of the sort.

Would love to do this again, as we had a blast. The Annapolis Boat Show this year was its usual spectacular self. Seemed like an rch fewer vendors and the crowds we down due to the incessant rain (didn't really notice it due to my new Musto rain gear ).

Finished out my day with a couple of Painkillers at Pusser's with a bunch of my friends from the Quantico Yacht Club and then headed home in the heavy rain (didn't really need my new Musto rain gear, but I had to wear it even in the car as it had the new smell). If I can get the rain to hold off a little I may check out some of the stuff I got at the show.
