Hope you're ready to play, it's gonna be a good one. Our boys are pretty fired up.

With the explosive power of both AL East teams, I'm not overconfident of either matchup (unless, of course, Ryan finally busts out of his HR slump). Ross, be careful to count your chickens too soon, though... As fired up as your boys are, they still need to take care of their business!

The Rays will care for their business this week end

The Rays will care for their business this week end.

Then we can settle down to one hell of a series.

Go Rays!!!

Rays fans so it on!

:)This is going to be a good series. I am glad the Red Soxs didn't win. I might be able to score a ticket in Tampa!

Re: Rays fans so it on!

This is going to be great! I don't know who to pull for. Being a Seattle fan, I have a natural affinity to losing history of the Rays, but I'm also a big Jamie Moyer fan. Hopefully he'll do better in the series than he did in the playoffs.

St Pete (where the Rays REALLY play!!) is on fire!

I've never seen anything like it (and our Bucs won a superbowl a few years ago). Eveyone is wearing Rays clothes and hats, you get an enthustiastic smile and wave from anyone that hears you say "go Rays", it's all we're talking about!

I live 1 1/2 miles from the dome, the marina is less than 20 blocks from the dome, in the heart of a totally revitalized downrown. Amazing.

Whether we win or lose, this area is proud of the team that went worst to first, and it's class act manager.

The Rays play alot like NL teams- small ball- hit & runs, stealing, just not alot of sac bunts, I guess because of the DH. But we have the talent to play long ball, too, and in spite of the game 5 blunder, our bullpen has been great.

With Baldelli back, we have 3 centerfielders with blinding speed, defensively, and on the bases. And I'll make the prediction right now- the Rays will have 2 players that will be allstars for years to come- Longoria (hitter of cooperstown ability), and pitcher David Price, who started his pro career THIS year in A ball. Unbelievable talent!

As a Met fan, I despise the Phillies, so, even though it wouldn't be devastating for this young team to lose, it would kill me to lose to THEM...

Enjoy the games, and good luck to all!

I am way too depressed about the Cubs ...

to care all that much anymore. I suppose when it comes right down to it, I want to see the Rays win ... it looks like it may take 7 for them to do it now.

Re: Go Phillies

Well, there's always next year. My hat's off to the Phillys. They manhandled us. The better team won.

I would like to see some resignations from the umpire crew though. It seems there were an inordinate amount of questionable calls, most of them affecting the good guys.

Glad I didn't wager on this one.
