I just replaced the glow plug switch on my boat in july. The other day I went down to the boat and noticed the engine was very warm. some how the glow plug switch got stuck on. I flicked it a couple of times and jiggled the wires behind and it went off. went to start my boat the other day and it wouldnt . Just wondering if anyone has had this problem and if it would be the glow plugs themselves burned out or the switch,or the small black plastic box behind the switch. It is a universal 11hp M 15.Any help would be great. Larry

Larry, im glad ypou wrote thisbecause i had a similar experience, but the opposite. I couldnt get my engine to start, i changed filters, cleaned tank etc, as one last effort before i called a mechanic, i changed the switch and VOILA!!!Now im convinced.... i need to put an indicator light in the cockpit so ill know when the switch is making contact. I hope your problem is not a serious one. Regards Tony

Burned Out

I'm fairly fure they're burned out. It happenned to me with a shorted out harness connector behind the starter switch. Try applying voltage to them directly from the battery. You'll know right away if they don't heat up. Could be a bad starter switch.
