I have had starting problems with my C30 Mklll(25XP engine) since I bought it last Spring. An investigation showed there was no current from the starter switch to the glow plugs. I am going to route a new wire. Question: Does the original wire go from the block behind the control panel directly to the engine? Is there a fuse in the line? Thanks for any help. Jim S. Glow Plugs and Starter Switch

JS Check the starter switch. Check the wiring, including the ground. Check the connections. Check the size of wiring for voltage drop, since older boats have #4 wiring. What year is your boat? Has the wiring harness upgrade been done? Also try the link below.

Start switch?

By "start switch", do you mean the key switch? The start switch (I believe on your model) is a push button switch. The glow plugs are activated by turning the key switch all the way clockwise. No fuse on a MkI.

Glow Plug Solution

I checked the wires from "start switch" to glow plugs and it wasn't working. Replaced wire and engine starts instantly after warming glow plugs. Did notice voltage drop in "glow plug" position that I didn't have before. Thanks for advice. Jim S.
