I'm out by myself sailing almost all of yesterday afternoon and the winds are light and the seas calm when I heard this on the VHF. A fully rigged sailboat towing a dingy is found a few miles off Pacific Beach yesterday with no one aboard. The TV news showed a quick picture and it looked to be a 27-30 foot sloop. It appeared to be going downwind, all by itself, and pretty as you please. I pulled out my harness and clipped in . . . http://www.thesandiegochannel.com/news/1921082/detail.html Nick "Julia Bell" C-27, #86

asleep

Interesting story, but sad. I wonder if the skipper was asleep in the cabin. A few years ago off Palos Verdes on my way to the Ismas I passed a boat with sails down. I sailed close and saw someone sleeping in the cabin...guess he was tired.
