removehtml]I`ve been reading up on Raymarine S1 Wheel Autopilot, it says its interface inputs/outputs: are seatalk, NMEA,??? I`m intersted in the Garmin 545 or 440 model GPS`s . They both say(read) The interface inputs/outputs: CANet,NMEA. What does the ( NMEA ) mean? Does that mean the S1 Wheel autopilot can be used with the Garmin 545, 440 GPS . And Or others brands with the same interface inputs/outputs? any information would be a great help, CHET. Error: Error: expected [/URL], but found [/removehtml] instead[/removehtml]

You can 'connect' a NMEA "talker"(GPS) to a NMEA "listener"(auto pilot). Course information can then be fed to the AP from the GPS.

Hi Chet, the link below describes what I ...

did on our boat. System works great with a few minor shortcomings because of the version differences. Terry http://kb.sailboatowners.com/brand?post=431
