Garhauer Traveller Upgrade query

I have just received the Garhauer traveller upgrade set plus mainsheet blocks for the Cat30. They were so kind to include a sketch, but I am not 100% certain about the lines going from the 'centerpiece' to the end pieces. If anyone would have a picture of their set up, I would be most grateful. I know I can call Garhauer, but due to time zone differences between Australia and US this is a bit of a hassle. BTW thanks Don Guillette for your suggestion to ask for Guido - it all went smoothly, albeit somewhat slow due to above time difference. Can't wait to install....

Thanks and another question.....

Thanks for the photos, they are definitely helpful. I have two other questions: the drawing says that the upper blocks (the ones hanging from the boom) are fixed and in order to make a fixed block from a swivel block 'tighten the set screw' .... can't find any screw to tighten....In a bag attached to the centrepiece of the traveller are two nuts and bolts, with rubber/rubber like cover: can't see anything there to fit them to! Any ideas? Thanks!

That together with Big Joes picture should give you a complete picture. Did you get the 3 shackle car or the single shackle car? I hope you got the 3 shackle car because it spreads the load on the car better plus it eliminates mainsheet line chafing.  There are set screws on the blocks. I don't know how to describe this but there is a SS shaft that the shackle part of the block rotates on and all the set screw is doing is preventing the block from twisting when you tighten it. You have to look closely for them as they don't jump out at you but now that you know where they are it should be easy to find. Personally, I left mine loose but it just depends on your prefernece.I'm wondering if the bolts and rubber grommits are part of the end stoppers that are used to stop the traveler car?Guido is one of he founders of Garhauer and their chief engineer so you were dealing with one of the main guys.

Thanks, problems solved

Don: yes, that explains it well, I have now found and tightened the set screws and indeed the rubber grommits would be in addition to the end-stoppers to prevent the car cracking into the end-stoppers. I'll drill the necessary holes in the track in the near future. I have the 3 shackle car and it is now installed and up and running. Took boat for a sail yesterday and it all functions well. Was solo and not much wind, but it all appears to be a vast improvement.Thanks for the advice.

To conclude things: I was lucky to have 25knt winds, gusting to 30knts this Saturday, so that we could do some serious playing with the new traveller, and what a difference it makes! The old lady is so much more under control, whilst keeping her speed. This is indeed a great improvement and the service was excellent.
