That was back when coffee was Maxwell House or Folgers - Black, and you could stand your spoon up in a cup

That's the coffee I drink now - perked in a Perko electric perculator at home and on the boat over the gas cooktop in a stainless steel perculator. In my oldfashioned opinion, it is the ony way to make coffee. I don't like the designer coffee houses like Starbucks and I hate the "quick coffee" machines at some of the gas stations now.
