I agree with your usual numbers @Mark Maulden. And it is impossible to tell from @Jack Barnes photo of his binnacle guard.
For his benefit Mantus does make there clamps in 3 sizes.

Material:
316 Stainless Steel

Available for 3 sizes of stainless steel tubing: 7/8 inch (22mm), 1 inch (25mm), 1 1/4 inch (32mm)

I got a new IPad 6 from work and was excited to use it because the Apple app for ISailor is better than Android but then I realized the IPads do not have GPS. Back to my old Samsung Tab A

I have used the iSailor app. It works with some Vesper data.

iSailor has been recommended by many XB-8000 and WatchMate Vision owners. It's easy to use and has an excellent night mode. iSailor is free and you just pay for the charts within the app. There is also an in-app purchase required to make AIS/GPS over WiFi available.
I found iNavX works projecting the AIS data on the NOAA charts, including all the other data. There is a cost for iNavX.

INavX Overlays AIS targets on charts. Free charts available for some regions. Subscription required for other regions and chart formats. Supports Navionics charts

I don’t think the mantis clamp will not fit need to use the other adjustable clamp
for the bigger stainless and have same setup on my 2007 H-36
Need to use MI photo and that’s what I will be getting.

Jack: I’m not on the boat, but bought a 1” clamp for my Whitlock tubing last week and it didn’t fit. I was using a bicycle clamp device I got off Amazon for an IPhone. I didn’t measure it but it’s at least 1-1/4 , maybe 1-1/2.

Thanks for the info. I believe that it is 1 1/2 in and I need a 90 degree angle with a proper size clamp. I will keep looking.

Im going to print out a plate to insert magnets in and glue it onto the base for a secondary means to keep it in place. I've been sailing in 15+ knots all day and it isn't moving but if its hit it will come off as it is.
You should verify the magnets won’t interfere with the internal compass (it will) or your binacle compass, if near. I’d avoid magnets near anything having to do with navigation.

Pardon the thread drift, but someone above mentioned the Navionics auto route function and I have to say “+1” it’s fantastic. Yes, I check to verify the auto-routes it generates and it adds some questionable extra turns occasionally, but I have yet to see it run over a hazardous area. All you need to do is tap and hold a destination point to start a new route.

When I was on the ICW I used it to set quick and easy routes to time the ETA to the next drawbridge. Having the real-time ETA to each bridge meant that we could set our speed to arrive just minutes before each scheduled opening, and we didn’t miss or hover long.

Also, having the crowd-sourced “SonarChart” depth display option is very nice, as it’s more accurate and up to date than the official charts (also a display option) or the Navionics charts. Being able to switch between all three with one touch is helpful in areas that are likely to have changed depths.

@MikeHoncho important point magnets near your compass. Not advised.
Assuming you are thinking magnets in the plastic holding phone to holder. Better idea big rubber bands at corners holding phone to holder. Cheap and replaceable.
Magnets not effective on stainless tubing.
