full battens to revive blown mainsail?

After that post I noticed that even in our avatar pic you can see our main sail is shot. This pic was taken in zero wind with the boom sheeted tight just to keep it still. Can't wait to get that boom up out of reach of my forehead!!!
Even if we go with their default foot angle of 88.6 degrees it will raise the boom a foot. Not sure if I should go for a bit more or not. 14" would be even better and take a 85 degree foot angle.

He may be right if you want to sail with rags. But these photos show a modern and what has worked out to be a smokin' fast suit of sails. I'm not saying all sailors need sails as good as these but I am suggesting that forum members could study the shape of these sails and learn what you want the shape of your sails to be.
As has been posted here before, good sails make sailing fun. Crappy sails are an exercise in frustration.
